Seshat was the Goddess of Astronomy and Writing, Architecture, and Mathematics. When Thoth became a God of Wisdom, she was seen as Thoth's daughter. She was important in building temples. She was consulted before the building started to get the right location and orientation. She was shown as a woman with a headdress that was also her hieroglyph. It represents seven pointed star on a standard that is beneath a set of down-turned horns. (The horns may have originally been a crescent, linking Seshat to the moon and hence to her spouse, the moon God of writing and knowledge, Thoth.)
